Byron Long is the Vice President of Finance for Vivius Holdings, L.L.C. Mr. Long was instrumental in the early development of Vivius’ subsidiary, Recovery Data Connect, L.L.C. and has over 30 years of experience in finance and management. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Long held financial and managerial positions with several Fortune 100 and “Big Five” accounting companies. He began his career, and earned his CPA, with Arthur Andersen in the tax and audit departments. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Long served as a Financial Services Manager for Coca-Cola USA, and was a District Controller at Allied Waste Industries.
Throughout his career, Mr. Long has been responsible for P&L analysis, budgeting, Sarbanes-Oxley analysis, strategic planning and business development. In addition to working for publicly traded companies, Mr. Long has founded and co-founded multiple small businesses and non-profit entities.
Mr. Long is on the Board and Treasurer for Prairie Financial Services, and the Stephen E Fleer Scholarship. He is a Mentor for students at the University of Kansas School of Business, and is a regular guest speaker on Entrepreneurship and Small Business topics. Mr. Long has also contributed to program development and reviews for various AICPA Continued Professional Education classes. Mr. Long is a longtime volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, and has served in numerous leadership positions including Scoutmaster, District Fundraising Chair, and is on the National Program Development and the National Religious Relationship Committees. He is on the Board for the Church of the Apostles, where he and his family attend.
Mr. Long received his M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, concentrating on Finance and Strategic Planning, and graduated with distinction while receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas. Mr. Long received his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1987.
